According to research by Paolo Buonanno University 'di Bergamo, in collaboration with Milo Bianchi of the Paris School of Economics and Paolo Pinotti of Bank of Italy, immigration does not increase crime. During an agree organized by the Bocconi University in Milan were exposed data on the number of legal and illegal immigrants and the number of crimes committed in the Italian provinces during the period 1996/2003. About 80% of the crimes attributed to immigrants is committed by those who are 'illegally present on Italian territory.
